José Galán García, “the one of the Shrimps”, is one of the last examples of a generation of Jerez singers, who have known how to fight in this difficult world of flamenco, with the fortune given by birth, the knowledge of past teachers and the gift of inspiration. Gifted, as few are, to appropriately undertake the necessary flamenco styles, José de los Camarones, has the necessary capacity and methodology to know how to transmit them.
Not only a singer, but also composer, his austere teaching is deeply rooted in tradition, with the necessary background to evaluate and discern among the different options that flamenco can present in the way of possibilities, but, above all, when differentiating authenticity from mediocrity and substitute accordingly. At the antipathy of superficiality, his lyrics are full of intensity, his methodology and didactics are full of knowledge, technique and experience.
José wants to pronounce with authority in this Flamenco Workshop, doing so with guaranteed and rigorous professionalism, and the necessary dose of artistic sensitivity at the service of the students. Art and Science are, therefore, the orders. This pedagogical experience, suitable for any level, turns out to be a unique opportunity to approach, deepen and, above all, enjoy the most genuine Flamenco.
